Have you ever seen those adverts for various weight-loss programs where you see the ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos? Of course you have, they are everywhere! In fact, it is not just confined to big companies I see them on a majority of diet blogs (LCHF included) as well!
They are designed to motivate you to buy what ever they are selling, or follow what ever they are writing – ultimately to make a profit. I am not saying that there are not some genuine ‘before’ and ‘after’ stories out there – but it is amazing how easily people can get manipulated.
Look at the series of photos below:
It looks as though these photos were taken over a series of weeks while following this chaps body transformation. Wrong. These were all taken on the same day and within the same hour! It is amazing what a shave, lighting and body posture can do!
My point about posting this is so we don’t get caught up on this idea of what we should look like. A lot of what we are exposed to on a daily basis is designed to manipulate us. It also gives us a false idea of what we are meant to look like and what we should achieve within a certain time frame.
It is time to start focusing on ourselves, looking after our bodies and achieving our own goals in our own and realistic timeframe and not made to feel inadequate because we can’t live up to a fake and manipulated ideal.
